The man accused of dragging out of the office, abducting and raping a 24-year-old woman in Muktsar in Punjab has been arrested after a month of the incident.
He was caught on camera dragging her out of her office in broad daylight on March 25. He then allegedly kidnapped and raped her.
Police claim woman knew the accused Gurjinder alias Jojo and the two belonged to the same village.
Despite her yelling for help, none of the bystanders helped her. Police, too, registered an FIR in the case five days after the incident took place.
The young Dalit woman and her family has approached the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes for help.
The Commission has summoned the police officials seeking details of the probe into the incident.
