You might have heard previously shared news on our site about 21 years old law student whom falls off a lighthouse while taking a selfie.

Here is truth behind her death:

Pranita Mehta, 21 years old, has died after being washed off cliffs in front of her horrified friends.

She was on vacations with a group of friends in Gorkarna beach in Karnataka,India when a massive wave suddenly hit the group.

Pranita desperately tried to grip onto the rocks as the water hammered down but she was unable to keep her hold and was dragged out to sea on Sunday.

When she was pulled out in the water, her desperate friends panicked and began screaming for help from police and staff at the hotel in which they were staying.

Her body was found and brought back to the shore by fishermen after a search of around 40 minutes where the popular law student was pronounced dead.

It is not at all about the perfect selfie, it’s the media’s imperfect knowledge. Kindly look into the below links and get your facts right before reporting. Do not resort to sadistic journalism.
Other print media has accepted the wrong reporting of the facts and apologized. Expect the same here.

For a media house that has such an ambitious name, you seem to be doing a terrible job of anything. This article is false, and misleading, and not to mention completely insensitive. How you guys jump so easily into the sensationalism bandwagon, we’ll never know.

The girl was not taking a selfie. She was not 300 feet above sea level, in a lighthouse. She was on the rocks, that were 10-15 feet above sea level, when an abnormally huge wave washed her away, the same wave that knocked her glasses off as well, making it near impossible for her to swim to safety. Pranita bravely held on to the rocks, despite all of this, battling for her life, but help came too late.

The FIR report, and the post mortem show no injuries that are consistent with a fall of that magnitude, and her phone is still with her friend. She didn’t even have her phone on her when she was swept away.

Please, for the sake of all that is right, please check your facts, before you publish anything. None of you deserve to be called media houses. You’re only adding to the grief that her family and friends are already facing, with your insane bid to outdo each other.

You’ll find images of the FIR in this link. http://www.scoopwhoop.com/Remember-The-Law-Student-Who-Died-While-Clicking-A-Selfie-In-Gokarna-The-Story-Is-Apparently-False/

The entire legal fraternity would like you to remove this article, and apologise for maligning her memory, while you’re at it.
