Delhi is the traditional and present day capital of India. It is the third largest city of the world. It is also the second largest metropolis after Mumbai with a population of over 13 million. Delhi have many facilities for everyone like metro train,railway stations,study facilities,medical facilities (AIMS),job facilities, day night security for everyone.
New generation can grab many opportunity in Delhi to get their successful living.Many independence women work in Delhi for their survival.Many Girls step out in the Night for their jobs.
But the main question is that “Is Delhi safe for women in the night? Or What does happen when a Girl travel in the late night in Delhi?”I’m not very opinionated but my answer is “As a thriving metropolis, New Delhi is taking steps towards becoming a world-class city but the safety of its residents remains a concern — especially if you are a woman”
So I’m just want to share some worse experiences of women while travelling in Delhi in the late night…
Experience 1 : Earlier this month, a woman travelling in an auto-rickshaw in the night barely escaped when two men in a passing van tried to grab her. The auto-rickshaw driver was in cahoots with the kidnappers but the woman managed to evade them and jump out, leaving her bag behind. The woman, whose T-shirt was torn during her escape, sought refuge with a policeman who started questioning her, inadvertently letting the would-be rapists escape.
The woman was dressed in a T-shirt and jeans. The incident took place around 11 in the night. And there were many witnesses, who watched apathetically.
In such cases, officials often blame the woman’s attire. Would the men not have attempted kidnapping the woman if she was wearing a saree, salwar-kameez or a burqa?
There is another incident which will reveal the condition of girls in the night
Experience 2 : This was out of the world.Very shameful incident for Delhites. In a horrific incident, a girl was brutally stabbed to death for protesting against eve teasing. The 19-year-old girl was stabbed 35 times in Anand Parbat area in Delhi.
The girl was being eve teased by two brothers. Both the suspects have been arrested and charged with murder.when on Thursday night, she stepped out to the local market when the brothers confronted her. After a fight, they allegedly stabbed the girl and she died on the spot.
“The girl ran from the attackers and entered my building. The men followed her and continued to stab her. They used to harass her a lot,” an eyewitness said. And the worst part revealed when The neighbours there did not help her. She could’ve been saved if they helped her. She entered a neighbour’s house as she was getting beaten. The neighbours’ whose house she entered, threw her out of their house, saying that they did not want to get involved in the matter.
How can people be so careless like this.There is a limit to be careless….
Experience : 3 Two Indian girls aged two-and-a-half and five years old were raped in separate incidents in New Delhi overnight, with at least one confirmed as a gang rape. The younger child was abducted late Friday around 12 am by two men from a religious event in west Delhi’s Nangloi area and sexually assaulted before being dumped in a park near her home.And in the other incident a five-year-old girl was gang-raped by three men in New Delhi’s eastern Anand Vihar area on thursday night after being lured to a neighbour’s house.
So there are few worst experiences of unlucky girls in Delhi.
In the end I would like to warn all female travelers to India to be extremely cautious in Delhi. Amongst India’s major cities, New Delhi has the highest number of sex crimes. Female travelers should not travel on public transport such local bus services of Delhi especially at night. There are people who are looking for lone female travellers to exploit. Hence you need to be careful in India when travelling alone.
We demand the capital punishment for criminals (rapist) in India. India already has the death penalty for serious crimes but we need to extend this to rapists as well. Unless we do not have stringent laws then these rapists will never have the fear of getting caught and victims will never get justice.
PS.In the end i just want to say one line that
” Our demand: DEATH PENALTY for convicted rapists.”
Girls are not a asset for your sex satisfaction. Respect women.
