Shah Rukh Khan and controversies go hand in hand. His upcoming film Raees has already been involved in many legal issues. Social activists were seen protesting outside the sets of the film, not giving location permissions to shoot and more. Now, the film as well as well-known names associated with it, are enveloped by a legal suit.

SRK plays the character in movie of an alleged gangster Abdul Latif who ran illegal liquor business in Gujarat during Prohibition in 1990s. Raees is facing several legal troubles. There were around 40 murder cases filed against Latif. Now, Mustak Ahmed Abdul Latif Shaikh, Latif’s son has sent legal notices to 9 prominent people who were included in the making of Raees. These include director Rahul Dholakia, producer Ritesh Sidhwani, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and SRK. He strictly asked why and how a film on the life of his father is being made.
The legal notice ceases the team from promoting, screening, releasing or publicizing the film. It says that Latif was a famous businessman well established in the society. In more clear way, Raees is blamed to be showing him in negative light and therefore the makers ought to give some explanations to his son. Even the set that represents the house of Abdul which was raised in FilmCity replicates Shaikhs’ residence. We wonder how SRK would handle this situation.
