
Delhi has always been blacklisted when it comes to the safety of women. Yet another mind trembling case is of a 25 year old Sikkim girl. She was allegedly raped by a doctor in south Delhi’s Hauz Khas area here on Thursday night. The victim was brought to Delhi by some persons four-five days back on the pretext of providing her a job said the police on initial investigation. The incident came to notice on Friday morning when the victim, who presently lives in Munirka area of south Delhi, called up police and narrated her ordeal. “The girl told police that some persons known to her took her to the doctor’s house in Hauz Khas last night and left from there. It was then that the doctor allegedly raped her,” said a police official.
The doctor is being in interrogated who works in a government hospital said the police. “We have detained the accused doctor and are questioning him. We are also trying to find out who left her at the doctor’s house,” he said.
The case has been registered at Hauz Khas Police Station; based on the complaint filed by the victim, Police said that it is also a case of human trafficking and prostitution and they are looking for people who brought her to the national capital.
“We have also approached the girl’s family members to get some leads in the case,” he said. This incidence has again posed a question about women safety in Delhi and India as well.
