The story is about a couple from Chandigarh who has adopted a baby girl (the identity of the family would keep confidential as they don’t want to disclose it). I don’t think any of you would give an importance because lots of couple does adopt babies to feel the parenthood. Now the question arises, what is special in this particular adoption?
The couple is already blessed with two boys. As we all know, in our Indian society, people do think that family is incomplete without a boy child. This couple already has boys and what we all say in our local language “KHANDAN KA CHIRAG”. The girl child would never a priority in our Indian societies. There is a belief; birth of girl child is a burden. But the story of this couple has given a new meaning to the word ‘Burden’ i.e. Angel of God.
The couple has always wanted to have a girl child in their family. According to them, family is incomplete without a girl child. The first baby born was a boy, made everyone happy as expected. Remember “KHANDAN KA CHIRAG”. Then they have planned another one, the couple was expecting baby girl this time. But again there was a baby boy. They were happy but this time they decided not to plan third pregnancy. They might give birth to baby boy again which they didn’t want. They also wanted to give better life to a child who is devoid of basic needs and a family atmosphere.
When I heard that, I was amazed that how one can think this way. Then they planned to adopt a baby girl. But do you all really think that this would be an easy task for them?

The couple has also gone through lots of problems before adoption. They had to face family pressure as well as social pressure. According to parents and relatives, their family is complete because they already have two boys. All thanks to Stereotypic Society. At one point of time, they felt helpless. They were trying to convince their family since two years. But the reactions from the family were not that supportive. So at the end, the couple took a decision to adopt a baby girl without anyone’s interference. When they have adopted a baby girl, she was few days old. Now she is almost 6 months old. They have named her ‘AMAYRA’ which means Princess. And yes she is a Princess.
At present, family members have totally changed and welcomed her in the family.
We always hear that the couples who can’t conceive go for an adoption. This story would make you think that everyone should adopt at least one child, even if they have their own kids. This action would give new life to a baby and parents to feel the parenthood.
