Amid media buzzing with issues highlighting sour relations between India and Pakistan, the later for the first time had shown its way of extending warmth by announcing public holidays Holi, Diwali and Easter for the first time.
This monumental move was resolved by Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, a lawmaker in the National Assembly.
Vankwani, who is also patron-in-chief of the Pakistan Hindu Council, thought that the announcement would help Pakistan make a good image among its minority communities.
He also said that it since countries like USA and India observed holidays for Eid and Muharram, it only made sense that Pakistan should do the same.
Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said that respective offices that employed people from minority communities could grant holidays.
He said, ““Pakistan already has one of the highest rates of public holidays compared to the rest of the world”.
Federal Minister for Laws and Justice Pervaiz Rashid said that the number of holidays in Pakistan were more than in any other country.
And he also added that all Pakistani enjoy the same privileges when in came to celebrating each others joys and sorrows and no discrimination was made on the basis of faith or religion.
