In a shocking incident, an Infosys employee was hacked to death at a Chennai Railway Station. S. Swathi, the victim, was an IT professional in Infosys and a resident of South Gangai Amman Koil Street, Choolaimedu. She was waiting at platform number 2 of the railway station, waiting for her train to arrive.

The man who stabbed Swathi was her stalker who had been harassing her for 6 months. Witnesses said that the man approached Swathi, and they had a heated argument after which he removed a sickle and attacked her face and neck. The onlookers didn’t even bother to take Swathi to the hospital. Left her on the platform to die. They boarded the train and left, according to the NDTV reports.

What we are concerned about? - Why didn’t anybody step forward, intervene or at least help her? Why wasn’t a Police present at the venue?

In an official statement, Infosys said:

“We are saddened by the unfortunate incident that has led to the demise of our employee in Chennai. We are working with the local authorities as they investigate the matter and will continue to provide our co-operation and support. Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with the family of the deceased. Infosys will provide all the necessary support to the family in their hour of grief.”

The lack of CCTV cameras are also proving to be a pain for the Police to track the stalker turned killer down.
