Badlega India
Haven’t we all heard that people in army are beyond a normal person’s understanding?
Of course they are! I mean the way they formally talk and are so careful in choosing their words; they are so used to their routines it’s almost like they are machines (without feelings).
I don’t write this to differ In-fact I write this to agree but just in a different way than others. I as luck would have it have crossed path with a lot of people in army, some relatives some friends and some I just happen to meet through people. And one thing I agree upon Is that they are all at a different level of psychology than the rest of us.
If you happen to know someone In army closely, you would definitely notice that they do things In a particular manner, they have a particular routine, Ironically even the most rebellious of them are very particular of the layouts of their belonging, their routines and their believes. So of cource they are weird… I mean what Is the deal with them anyway what do they think of themselves… walking into a place and behaving as If they know better. I had the same thought process as a lot of people among you would. On the top of everything they get so many perks in being army. My god and they always keep on cribbing about more!!
I once asked a friend of mine (an army officer) what is the problem with you army people can’t you talk normally? Sometimes when I am talking to an army person I find them beating the bush around or addressing the topic in question very indirectly.
The answer was, “ the way we reply to certain quarries or certain situations even certain topics that way because we understand what It’s like to be emotionally hurt someone or rather we are hurt so many times emotionally and physically (literally) that when we talk we are more sensitive to the topic than the one questioning or talking about It.”
My next quarry was people often say army people are psychos why do you think that is a popular belief…
“Well we are, we are trained to be… otherwise tell any normal person to lay their life for someone else will they? Will you?”
Off-course not right (that was my response too)
“But you tell any defense person to give their life for their country for their motherland they will be smiling and waiting for that bullet on their chest wide open.”
Another said on the same notion that, “we are not stingy or dogmatic, we simply believe in following rules, regulations and protocols that has been in this respected institution since a very considerable long time”.
We say army families have so many perks and benefits but have you ever given a thought how many of them would not have seen tomorrow’s sun because they were trying to keep us safe… how many of them would have missed so many birthdays, anniversaries, new years, birth of their child… I even know a case where the person could not reach on his own engagement because there was a situation…
“My husband Is In army and every time I see him off I have no clue that after how long will I see him or even by god’s grace even see him again but all we got to have Is faith” said an army wife, her husband was a part of Kargil war.
“We believe in certain set of values, certain set of norms and traditions, we don’t have caste differences, we don’t have any particular religion and we respect as well as value all. But above all we are Indians and we look best in our olive greens…” with a smile added an army officer I happen to cross while travelling added, “no-one asks about your religion before shooting you, they are all the same the only difference is the nation you are fighting for. Being an Indian that’s the only difference that matters”
We have become so self centred that we have even stopped questioning when someone questions our armed forces… there should be raging anger when someone even tries to point a finger at them…
So army as we speak so freely about we call them all sorts of stuff like psychopaths, rigid, dogmatic, and this one is my personal hated one ‘rapist’; watch your words when you talk of them because those people that you are talking about are probably… taking bullets on their chests for you… are waking up at god knows what hour of the morning so that you can sleep peacefully… are staying away from their families so can your families can be In peace…are missing there celebrations of life so that your celebrations should be carried upon without any hindrance… are fighting for the nation are fighting for you for us…
If you are an Indian you will be proud of the Indian army!
