Aditi Gilbile, a four month old infant from Solapur in Maharashtra, turned out to be an inspiration for all of us. She suffered from as many as 20 heart attacks in two months as she is suffering from a rare condition. The condition is called Anomalous Left Coronary Artery from Pulmonary Artery and Mid-Day reported that she underwent a nine-hour cardiac surgery at Sir HN Reliance Hospital to cure it recently.

Shreepal Jain, paediatric cardiologist at the hospital, told DNA, “We did an echocardiography and found that she had an abnormal artery origin which was turning away a majority of the blood supply from the heart.”
Infant’s heart is turning feeble because of silent and frequent heart attacks.

The pulmonary artery takes impure blood to the lungs. Due to the anomaly, the pure pink blood was not getting supplied to the heart, triggering the frequent attacks.

Speaking about the ALCAPA defect, Jain explained, “This defect is extremely rare and seen in one in 3 lakh deliveries. Due to improper supply of oxygenated blood to the rest of the body, the child suffered from breathlessness, poor appetite and slow development”.
As baby was suffered excessive sweating, parents got to know that something is wrong since mid of January. She used to cry for long hours and wasn’t taking proper feed. “She cried continuously and sweated profusely. Once, she cried for three hours nonstop and we panicked and rushed to a doctor,” Aditi’s mother, Preeti told.

Doctors at the hospital have said that she will lead a normal life after eight to nine months of recovery period.
