Seelampur in northeast Delhi is again in news due to the floating body found of an eight-year-old boy today in a water-filled ditch on an empty plot of land.
The boy was identified as Amit, who was missing since Wednesday evening. His last location known was in the plot flying kites along with other children before his dead body was found around 11 AM on Thursday.
“The locals alleged that the plot was a property of DDA but we are yet to verify ownership of the land,” said a police officer.
The body has been sent for autopsy as per the registered case to determine whether the boy died due to drowning or some other reason, the police officer reported.
