In an emergency how would you react? Doctors at the Kamlaraja Hospital in Gwalior had to resort to take desperate measures in desperate times, being forced to use torches from their phones to perform two surgeries after a power outage, according to Times Of India reports.
The incident occurred at 10 am on Tuesday, when two women were being operated upon in separate operation theatres.
There was a sudden power cut at the hospital and it was reportedly pitch black inside the operation theatres. The hospital did have a backup generator but unfortunately, it failed to start within time.
Push came to shove and the doctors had to resort to using phone light to continue the surgeries.
The power finally came back after more than 15 minutes and it was later found that the man in-charge of the backup power supply room was unavailable during the crisis.
