According to a report in The Newsminute, A cab driver allegedly harassed a woman employee of a tech comapany and asked her to have sex with him, driver was also appointed by the same company in Bengaluru.
The 24-year-old woman said that during the two-hour journey, he asked her inappropriate questions. “His questions scrabble about personal areas of my life, such as ‘Do I love anyone,’ ‘Do I have boys or girls as friends,’ etc. I showed my disinterest by not responding and engaging myself with my phone,” she said in her statement.
The victim also claimed that the driver asked her what would she do if a guy forced himself on her. She replied that she carries a pepper spray, after which the cabbie told her that he was interested in having sex with her, and also promised to use a protection.
“The driver continued to say he was not looking to get married, but his intent was plainly to have some fun with me. He also suggested that we become friends and said I should call him home when I was alone. Just as I was getting down, the driver asked me to say ‘I love you’ to him, but I ignored him and ran into the building,” she added.
The victim directly went to the company’s transport wing as soon as she reached her office. The driver has been arrested on the relevant charges.
Thankfully he didn’t really force himself on her and kept it to the conversation itself else it would have been more difficult for the girl. She took a right step by complaining it to the department as he might get dangerous some other time or to some other girl.
