With the scorching heat and increasing temperatures everyday, while many parts of country is facing the heatwave, India becomes the first to get its own Heat Index.The index will be available on the IMD website, and will be updated every three hours across all weather stations
A Heat Index is what the temperature feels like to the human body when relative humidity is combined with the air temperature.It is determined by the air temperature and relative humidity.
In past few days India has witnessed the highest temperatures in the region of Rajasthan, Phalodi followed by Churu. Recently, with the head index rising, the roads have started to melt as recorded in Gujrat. The pedestrians foot wearable are stuck to the melting tar due to the excessive heat resulting in discomfort and inconvenience to them. While many parts of Northern part is getting affected by the excessive heat, the souther region is widely affected by the cyclones and excessive rainfall. India has become a mix of weathers causing highly increased number of deaths, heatstrokes and destruction to the lives of people.
The Global warming has caused in the substantial amount of increase in record breaking temperature and changing in the phenomena of weather
In order to save yourself from the heat, follow the steps:
- Do heavy physical activity early in the morning or at night.
- Wear loose breathable clothing such as cotton and linen.
- Maintain proper Hydration, drink small amounts frequently.
- Cover your face with masks and wear hats and a sunscreen.
