In a horrifying incident, an 18-year-old, identified as Vikas, was attacked with knives, rods, and sticks in broad daylight by a group of four men in Chandigarh’s sector 25 market on Wednesday.
The entire act was caught on CCTV camera and reportedly took place when the victim was travelling on a two-wheeler with two of his friends, when he was stopped and beaten up badly by at least four men.
He was rushed to PGI hospital where he was declared dead due to excessive blood loss.
The CCTV coverage showed that no sane person intervened when the victim was beaten up. After a while, the accused fled the spot when someone finally came to rescue the victim. But it was too late to initiate something important like that.
Two of the attackers are identified from the CCTV coverage. Police are further investigating the matter to ascertain the motive behind the attack. Sources said, Vikas was beaten up because of some personal conflicts.
