BR Ambedkar University officials were in for the shock of their lives when results of the BEd exams were about to be out. While around 12,800 regular students were enrolled at the varsity, more than 20,000 had passed.
Times of India reports that investigation is underway and many irregularities in enrollment itself has been observed. The matter came to light when copies received, by a private agency, for checking was more than data of students received. Many colleges have admitted enrolling more students than seats available, and these extra enrollment also took exam. The VC, Mohd Muzammil has formed a comiitte and ordered a probe.
TOI reported that in academic session 2013-14, 191 B.Ed colleges affiliated to BR Ambedkar University had claimed that 40% of their seats were vacant and they were suffering loses due to it.
More shocking is that these extra enrollements had never actually studied in these colleges and were enrolled only days before exams. They possibly never really passed entrance exam.
The university has now asked for individual data of students. The CD’s of counseling sessions is alos being brought out for further investigation.
