In a very disturbing incident, a 28-year-old veterinary doctor from Vaishali, Ghaziabad sustained serious burn injuries in an acid attack, allegedly by a woman on Monday.
A jilted woman, 40 years old, allegedly threw four litres of acid on Dr Amit Verma, when he was preparing to leave for his veterinary clinic in the morning. The clinic is at a close proximity from Verma’s residence in Vaishali.
Verma was immediately rushed to hospital, where the doctor reported that he has sustained 40 per cent burns on his face, chest, abdomen and arms. He has been kept in the ICU.
“Before joining the clinic, Amit worked as a veterinary doctor in Meerut. Amit stayed at a rented accommodation and developed a close relationship with the landlady. However, when he left Meerut for Ghaziabad, it didn’t go down well with her. She had followed him to Vaishali and met him over three times in the past 18 days.”. Deepak further said that when he asked Amit who did it, Amit barely uttered the word “aunty” and that’s how Deepak realized that it was the same landlady who had been after him, Amit’s friend told to Hindustan Times.
Amit can barely talk or move now. The police said that they are ready to carry out investigation, but Amit has not registered any FIR against the woman. The police said, “they are waiting for a written complaint to be filed by Amit’s family and will definitely take serious action against the accused.”
