The mother of a 16-year-old young girl approached the Madras high court to get justice with a transfer of the investigation from Jeyankondam police to CB-CID. Her daughter was abducted, raped and killed in Ariyalur district in December 2016. She is still fighting to get justice.
Justice R.Mahadevan, before whom the petition filed by Rajakili came up for hearing, directed the prosecution to get instructions and posted to March 27, further hearing of the case.
As per the petitioner, she belongs to a scheduled caste and her minor daughter was the victim of a gang rape before she was killed in the cruelest and barbaric way.
If the investigation had been carried out promptly and properly, then her daughter would have been alive today. Even the woman further said that the police did not take action against the accused properly and also reprimanded her by saying she did not bring up the child properly.
As of now, the woman filed this petition to transfer the investigation to CB-CID and also she demand that appropriate action should be taken against the SP, DSP and inspector as they failed to properly investigate and provide protection to her child, she added further.
