This turns to be surprising news for many citizens of Uttar Pradesh as Yogi Adityanath has been chosen as the new chief minister of the state by the ruling BJP. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has elected Yogi Adityanath, the MP from Gorakhpur, as the new CM of Uttar Pradesh.
BJP state president Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma will be the Deputy CMs of the state.
Yogi Adityanath was chosen after RSS reportedly vetoed the party’s top choice for Chief Minister, union telecom minister Manoj Sinha.
Yogi Adityanath, who was one of BJP’s star campaigners in the recently concluded election, but with the names like union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and KC Maurya were reportedly making rounds. Finally, Yogi Adityanath appointed as the new Chief Minister of the Uttar Pradesh.
Yogi Adityanath is known for his Hindutva agenda and he is the firebrand leader of the party. Adityanath is also a priest of the Gorakhnath temple in eastern UP. As per reports, he courted many controversies in the past with his statements.
Yogi Adityanath is currently the MP of Gorakhpur. He has a huge fan base of Hindu followers from across the state. His appointment will also be seen by many as the BJP going against the mass choice. It would be interesting to see how Yogi Adityanath takes the state forward with development agenda taking all communities together. A large number of minorities is also voting for the party’s development agenda.
Yogi Adityanath is known for his firebrand Hindutva image. The 44-year-old BJP leader comes from the Rajput community, and he is the head of Gorakhnath Mutt in Gorakhpur.
He is blessed with millions of followers from eastern UP and neighbouring Nepal. He has been elected as the Lok Sabha MP from Gorakhpur in 1998. A science graduate, Adityanath is known for his fiery speeches among his supporters.
